Superior Court hearing cancelled

The Pierce County Superior Court officially cancelled a tentative hearing that had been scheduled for this Friday, Aug. 14, for the case involving Puyallup City Councilmember John Knutsen, City Manager Gary McLean and City Attorney Cheryl Carlson.
Another tentative hearing is on the docket for Friday, Sept. 4 at 9 a.m. A mandatory hearing won’t be held until November.
The Herald’s Aug. 12 issue contains a detailed article about the defense’s response to Knutsen’s lawsuit. Knutsen is seeking a court order to obtain records he deems integral for doing his job, while the city claims he is entitled to no more information than a member of the public.
