Multiple sources have confirmed that Puyallup City Councilmember George Dill, who was recently re-elected to his second term on the council, died this morning of an apparent heart attack. He was 75.

Fellow Councilmember Rick Hansen said Dill was having breakfast at home this morning when he fell out of his chair. He was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital but medical units could not revive him.

City Manager Gary McLean released an e-mail message to all city employees this morning, saying that flags at all Puyallup facilities will be at half staff in Dill’s honor today.

“I am sure the family would appreciate your thoughts and prayers in their time of sorrow,” McLean wrote.
